Overview
Topo User Rank represents activity in the service with four badge levels. Rank can change in response to actions such as publishing cards and receiving likes.
You can check your current rank and the rough path to the next level in your profile. Rank-related campaigns may also be offered from time to time.
User Rank Levels
Topo has four User Rank levels:
- Explorer
- Scout
- Guide
- Guardian
Thresholds Between Levels
User Rank changes according to an internal status value from 0 to 100.
- Explorer: 0 to less than 20
- Scout: 20 to less than 80
- Guide: 80 to less than 100
- Guardian: 100
The next-level guideposts are:
- Explorer to Scout: 20
- Scout to Guide: 80
- Guide to Guardian: 100
- Guardian: the current highest level
Actions That Can Increase Rank
User Rank changes when Topo reflects your activity on the server. The current implementation treats these categories as rank-related actions:
- Publishing a card (creating a card without publishing it does not affect rank)
- Publishing a high-quality card with photos or video, which can have a greater effect than usual
- Receiving likes
The specific weight of each action is not public. It can also look different depending on a campaign or operating conditions.
When Rank Can Decrease
If no rank-related activity happens for a period, Topo’s internal status can decay and the resulting rank can go down.
The app treats this as a formal decay state. It manages the current state from the number of days since the last action and the next scheduled decrease.
Rank may decrease when:
- No rank-related action, such as publishing a card or receiving a like, occurs for a period
- You continue to use Topo but do not take an action that affects rank
When you take a rank-related action such as publishing a card, Topo updates the last-action time used for decay. Continued rank-related activity can therefore make a rank easier to maintain.
Campaigns
Topo may run User Rank campaigns. If you take an action that meets the conditions during a campaign’s active place and period, it can have a greater effect on rank than usual.
Campaigns can, for example:
- Give posts or reactions during the active period a larger effect on rank
- Increase rank-related effects for a particular area or condition
- Show campaign information in your profile when its period and place match
Campaigns do not always have the same name, conditions, or duration. Check the campaign information shown in your profile for the current details.
Notes
- Rank has four levels, while its underlying status value changes from 0 to 100.
- Guardian is the current highest level.
- When no campaign is active, rank updates under the standard rules.
- When a campaign is active, its effects on rank can differ from the standard rules.
