Overview
Music Memo lets you keep a song that catches your attention in town, connected to the place where you heard it. You need to be signed in to a Topo account, allow microphone access, and have an internet connection. Topo v1.2 is available on iPhone running iOS 17.6 or later.
Steps
- To create a new card, open the card creation screen.
- The camera opens first. Use the mode menu to select the Shazam icon.
- To add music to an existing card, open Add Memo (+) at the bottom of the screen.
- When the Shazam screen opens, Topo starts recognizing the song playing around you. When a match is found, it is added as a Music Memo.
- If you want, choose an emoji to express how the music makes you feel.
Things to Know
- Music and audio used for recognition are never saved.
- If a song cannot be identified, microphone access is not allowed, or the connection or recognition fails, follow the on-screen guidance to choose Settings or Try Again.
- A Music Memo added from an existing card inherits that card’s place. One added while creating a new card is connected to the place confirmed on the creation screen.
- A Music Memo attached to a currently public card can be switched from private to public. A confirmation appears before you publish it.
- On a private card, a card whose public period has ended, or a card without a public expiry, Music Memo stays private and cannot be switched to public.
- A Music Memo added to a new card is reflected after the card is saved. If the card saves but the Music Memo alone fails to be added, guidance appears on screen.
