Use My Memo

Learn how to add a My Memo to a card, when it can be published, and how dates, photos, and places are handled.

Overview

My Memo lets you add a personal record to a city card that caught your attention. You need to be signed in to a Topo account and connected to the internet. Topo v1.2 is available on iPhone running iOS 17.6 or later.

Steps

  1. Open the detail for the card you want to add a record to.
  2. Open Add Memo (+) at the bottom of the screen and choose My Memo.
  3. Enter or add the text, date and time, place, or photos you want to keep.
  4. Tap the check mark in the upper-right corner to save.
  5. After saving, tap the memo status to switch between Private and Public.

Things to Know

  • At least one of text, date and time, place, or photo is required. You can add up to three photos.
  • If you do not choose a place, the memo inherits the parent card’s place. You can change it in the place picker when needed.
  • Adding a date and time schedules a local notification for that time. The memo is still saved if notifications are not allowed, but no reminder will arrive.
  • Adding a photo with the camera requires camera access. Moving to your current location requires location access.
  • A My Memo attached to a currently public card can be switched from private to public. A confirmation appears before you publish it.
  • On a private card, a card whose public period has ended, or a card without a public expiry, My Memo stays private and cannot be switched to public.
