Overview

In Topo, cards saved as private notes attached to a place can be published or shared on the internet.

When you publish a card, it normally appears in Stream for up to three days and can be viewed by other Topo users within 500 meters. Sharing lets you send an image, video, or public-card web link through social media, messaging apps, and other services.

What You Can Do

  • Publish a card for up to three days so other people can see what is happening at that place for a limited time.
  • Let a published card end automatically after three days, helping prevent you from forgetting to stop publishing it.
  • End publishing manually during the public period when circumstances change and you need to make the card private again.
  • Share cards that include images, video, or links on the internet so people outside the app can understand their content.
  • Have card publishing contribute to your user rank, so the activity you share can also be reflected on your profile.

Steps

  1. Open the detail for a card you created and use the publish control at the bottom of the screen.
  2. A published card appears in the Stream of other Topo users within 500 meters.
  3. You can end publishing whenever you need to. To edit a published card, end publishing first, edit it, then publish it again.
  4. When you publish, the title and body are generated in Japanese, English, and Traditional Chinese through automatic translation. Editing the card also updates its translations.
  5. To share a card, use the share button in its detail screen to include an image, video, or public-card web link.

Notes

  • A published card appears in Stream for a limited period, and you can end publishing when needed.
  • Preparing a share that includes video can take a little time.

If It Does Not Work

  • If publishing fails, reopen the card detail screen, check its state, and try again.
  • If share preparation stops, check your connection and try again.
